Getting there by road

  • 2.5 hour drive from Cairns
  • 1 hour drive from Port Douglas

Cape Trib Farmstay is located approx. 150km north of Cairns (the nearest International Airport) on the Cape Tribulation Road in Cape Trib, Far North Queensland, Australia. The road is sealed, and there is a ferry crossing at the Daintree river.

There is a map available from Daintree Cape Tribulation Tourism which shows the journey from the Daintree River to Cape Tribulation. A travel guide of the area is also available.

When you arrive at Cape Tribulation, drive past the Cape Trib Shop, Takeaway, and PKs. Directly after the Takeway and Bat House, take the next left into a palm-tree lined driveway marked by a sign "Cape Trib Farmstay". We're approx. 1.3 km north of Mason's Cape Tribulation shop.

Transport to Cape Tribulation - Bus Options

SunPalm - 07 4099 4992. The bus leaves Cairns early in the morning, arrives at Cape Tribulation around 11.00 am, and then returns to Cairns. Email sunpalm@ledanet.com.au for their timetable.

Cape Trib Resort Transfer - 07 4098 0033. The Cape Tribulation Resort Transport Desk which has several transfers a day between Cape Tribulation and Cairns. The trip takes approx. 3.5 hours.

Cape Trib Connections - 07 4041 7447. This company comes up to Cape Tribulation from Cairns each day transporting people who have bought packages. If you request, they will drop you off at Cape Trib Farmstay.

Travel 104km north of Cairns via the Cook Highway to the Daintree River crossing. The ferry operates 6am–midnight every day except Christmas Day and Good Friday. Take care on the narrow, winding roads through to Cape Tribulation. Conventional access is possible though high clearance is useful and towing caravans is not recommended. The road to Cape Tribulation has many creek crossings and steep grades. Wildlife is common along this road, especially cassowaries. Please drive carefully, especially at night.
